(Voice of The Vikings Article) Students Prepare: DPMS Dance Concert 2021

In previous years, DPMS has had a dance concert provided by the school’s dance team. Dance members have provided us information for this year’s concert, and Mrs Wilson and the dance team have confirmed that they are having a dance concert in December for the winter dance concert this year! Details to follow from dance team members Katie O’Neal and Anna Yergensen.

“The winter concert is on December 14 at 7pm.” Says Anna Yergensen, an excellent dance team member, after being asked when the concert is. Will there be a concert this year, and if so in what form?: “Yes. Probably as an assembly. Last year they filmed it.” Says Katie O’Neal, another talented dancer. What is the theme of the concert?: “The nutcracker.” Katie informs us. Given the information, dance team members seem very excited about the concert provided this year.

A classic Christmas tradition follows the dance team’s concert, the nutcracker. The entire dance team will be doing the performance, making it the ultimate winter dance. All readers make sure to come to the nutcracker themed dance concert on December 14, 7 pm to support this year’s amazing dancers!

Jordan Elle Reservoir, Utah: Review

Not too long ago, me, my family, and my friend’s family went to a really cool camping place called Jordan Elle reservoir for a fun semi-camping experience. There are fire pits, cabins, a lake, a hiking area, and other fun things to do while you visit. All the cabins have heaters, beds, a microwave, one outlet, and a framed image. It may not really be camping, but it is a good beginner point to camping if you don’t want to set up a tent, and still have connection to the internet. You still get the nature experience with all the lovely wild life and such, but it isn’t as extreme. When I went it had lovely scenery, and the day was filled with skipping stones, (a sad attempt at) fishing, sitting by the fire, and hiking. By night we were cooking at the fire, stargazing, and joking around when it was nearly pitch-black. Overall, it was a great trip and on the second of October we are going back!

Raising Cane’s: Worth it?

Recently Raising Canes came to Utah, and it has been very popular. The regular canes meal comes with some chicken fingers, french fries, toast, and Cane’s signature sauce. Although it does seem like a basic meal, it has something special about it, in fact it was so special that when it first opened in South Jordan the line was almost 2 hours long. That’s pretty crazy! You may think that it isn’t worth it to wait around for some random chicken fingers, but I think different! If you have tried the chicken fingers, they are amazing, the sauce is really something special, the toast if perfectly garlic-y, and the fries are pretty good too. So what are you waiting for? Go down and try it yourself! (Click Here To Take A Poll On Raising Cane’s!)

Welcome To Seattle! My Washington State Trip.

In early July I went to Washington state! It was one fo my favorite trips I’ve been on, we did so many interesting things!

Day 1:

After we got off our plane the first thing I did in Seattle was go to a restaurant called the lemongrass, which was a Vietnamese grill cuisine, it was amazing! There were also many boba places. At our hotel there was literally a boba place 2 minutes away for walking distance! (Thanks Apple Maps)

Day 2:

After seeing many Starbucks stops along the way, my family and I went to Snoqualmie Falls, a beautiful waterfall hike that was very natural and full of the good green beauty.

Day 3:

I went to the Museum of Popular Culture! It had some fun and interesting exhibits! I also went to the space needle, and it was so high up and scary! There was a revolving glass floor and it was intense. You could also go outside and see a lot of Washington! At the top outside of the space needle, There were Plexi Glass walls, and there are little slits between them, and some guy was STICKING HIS PHONE OUT TO TAKE A PHOTO! He’s lucky he didn’t drop it!

Day 4:

A CRAZY DAY! We went on a mini road trip to the coast of Washington, and we had to go to 4 fish and chips restaurants before we could actually get some!

Day 5:

Our final day in Washington! Me, my brother, and my dad went to the museum of flight where our dad showed us some cool airplanes!
