Guest Blogger: Emma Gordon-Smith Talks About Harry Potter

hello, my name is Emma, i am Allys BPFF! (best potterhead friends forever!)

i have been asked to write a post and have been told it can be about anything, so, i will write about harry potter! Harry Potter is a wizard, the only child of James and Lily Potter. He is famous for having survived an attack by Lord Voldemort when he was a baby. He is also sometimes known as ‘The Boy Who Lived’. For the first eleven years of his life Harry lives with his mean aunt and uncle and is unaware of his wizarding blood. while he is also known as “the boy who lived” i like to call him “the cutest boy who lived.” he is tied with draco though. harry potter is honestly a pretty vague topic so im deciding to write about the hair evolution and rating it!

first, harry potter:

in his first year he looks really cute and innocent, so i give it 6/10.

second year is pretty much the same so…. 6/10

third year makes me cry and i give it 100000000000000000/10

fourth year is a bit to long for my liking. but harry is always hot so 8/10

fifth year made a big change, and normally i would give it 9/10, but with that look on his face! definite 10/10

that picture for sixth is hillarious, and reminds me of my fav scene. (when harry takes felix felicis! “harry!” “sirRrR”) 9/10!!!

im sorry, but deathly hallows, year seven. im just not a fan.. of anyone really, but like i said, hes really cute so 7/10!

next i will do draco! (because i cant choose whos cuter!!!!!)

ok so… first year is just absolutley adorable. so 8/10!

second is kinda awkward, 6/10

third is 1000000000000000000000000/10

fourth is 10/10

fifth is 10/10

sixth is 9/10

seventh is 8/10 (im not liking that facial structure though…)

Jordan Elle Reservoir, Utah: Review

Not too long ago, me, my family, and my friend’s family went to a really cool camping place called Jordan Elle reservoir for a fun semi-camping experience. There are fire pits, cabins, a lake, a hiking area, and other fun things to do while you visit. All the cabins have heaters, beds, a microwave, one outlet, and a framed image. It may not really be camping, but it is a good beginner point to camping if you don’t want to set up a tent, and still have connection to the internet. You still get the nature experience with all the lovely wild life and such, but it isn’t as extreme. When I went it had lovely scenery, and the day was filled with skipping stones, (a sad attempt at) fishing, sitting by the fire, and hiking. By night we were cooking at the fire, stargazing, and joking around when it was nearly pitch-black. Overall, it was a great trip and on the second of October we are going back!

Pandemic: Thoughts and Timeline

Since March 12, 2020, the world has been in a crazy time with a virus going around. And because of the nature of the COVID-19 virus, we had to stay at home for a while. For the rest of the interrupted 2019-2020 school year, people did school on their laptops at home. This was tough for many people, and this virus shut down the world. It also deeply split American people, mainly democrats and republicans. This is not really a subject I would like to elaborate on, after all the things it caused. After the 2019-2020 school year ended, the summer broke out, and airlines were mainly shut down, so not a lot of travel, so many people stayed home for a few months. Then once the summer ended, havoc broke out when the new school year started. It was hard on many people, especially the teachers. they had to teach the extra 70 kid class on top of all the other period classes they had to teach. But soon the vaccines rolled out, making the accessibility to school and work more applicable to people. In the end, we came together, and the world recovered.

(Disclaimer: Please do not give hate on this post, I am just identifying the problem at hand, and how we are solving it)

A little bit about me!

Hi! My name is Ally Hurley, and I work on the school paper! I am half asian, and half European, so that scatters my family members across the globe. I would say that my personality traits consist of a Ravenclaw. Smart, kind, ambitious, and organized. I have a bold flavor palette, as I like many kinds of cuisines, my favorite being asian, which influences my favorite food, boba tea. I would be fine living out my days with a good cup of boba. An unusual thing about me is that I really hate chocolate flavored things, it’s so weird! I cannot stand the bitter taste of chocolate ice cream. My favorite main school subject is ELA, because I really love writing stories and articles. A pet peeve I have is disorganization, I only like to work in a clean space. I really love Harry Potter, it’s definitely my favorite franchise (I even had a Harry Potter themed birthday when I was 11!)I would love to live in a world with witches and wizards.

Welcome To Seattle! My Washington State Trip.

In early July I went to Washington state! It was one fo my favorite trips I’ve been on, we did so many interesting things!

Day 1:

After we got off our plane the first thing I did in Seattle was go to a restaurant called the lemongrass, which was a Vietnamese grill cuisine, it was amazing! There were also many boba places. At our hotel there was literally a boba place 2 minutes away for walking distance! (Thanks Apple Maps)

Day 2:

After seeing many Starbucks stops along the way, my family and I went to Snoqualmie Falls, a beautiful waterfall hike that was very natural and full of the good green beauty.

Day 3:

I went to the Museum of Popular Culture! It had some fun and interesting exhibits! I also went to the space needle, and it was so high up and scary! There was a revolving glass floor and it was intense. You could also go outside and see a lot of Washington! At the top outside of the space needle, There were Plexi Glass walls, and there are little slits between them, and some guy was STICKING HIS PHONE OUT TO TAKE A PHOTO! He’s lucky he didn’t drop it!

Day 4:

A CRAZY DAY! We went on a mini road trip to the coast of Washington, and we had to go to 4 fish and chips restaurants before we could actually get some!

Day 5:

Our final day in Washington! Me, my brother, and my dad went to the museum of flight where our dad showed us some cool airplanes!
